We apologize for the lack of posts recently...but we've had our hands full :) Milo James Hayes was born on Monday, February 8th (his due date!) at 9:31pm. He weighed in at a whopping 9 lbs. 6 ozs. which was a total surprise...our midwives estimated him at something around 7-7.5 lbs. In hindsight, I'm glad I didn't know how big he was! Pushing would have been a lot more terrifying. He is a happy, healthy boy and we are so in love. It's amazing how your life can change so totally and completely in one tiny second. Milo has dark hair like his papa as well as dad's beautiful blue eyes. We've decided that his nose and mouth come from me.
Sleeping at night has been a challenge and Ryan and I are both exhausted. But he's totally worth it and we're slowly learning strategies to help us all rest better. Who knew that a Fischer Price singing seahorse could be so relaxing for both babes and adults?
Milo is currently sleeping (or not sleeping) in our bedroom but we hope to transition him to his new nursery in the coming months. I promise to take some pictures of his room soon. We take him up there once a day to get him used to the space. It's the smallest room in the house but the large windows on the east and southern side bathe it in light most of the day. It really is an inspiring place to be.
Until I take pictures of the nursery, here are some shots of its newest occupant...
